I'm having a bit of probs with my video's, they are really choppy and my sound fails more than once.
I'm the proud owner of a : Amd 2400 XP+ 512 mb ram+ ati 9600 pro
can someone help me???
I'm sorry to say that, but I have the same problem. The Video Chops every 2 seconds and the sound fails for a sec..
I am searching for a solution, if I find one I'll inform you first
greetings UNI
i think it might be the cd protection that is causing most of the problems. it checks the cd every few minutes so sound is skipping and gfx problems arise.
I think it's the Graphics Card,
it's already known that ATI cards give the problems,
all different kind of problems!
Hope they fix it in the next patch...
i have an nvidia gfx card and the game crashes alot for me. its when the sound skips and the cd is accessed that it crashes. i always save asap when i can tell the sound skipping just in case it does crash once again.
i hope its fixed soon as it seems a great game.
well i couldnt edit my msg above so i'll give u the exact error msg..."no surface detected". i did nothing special just play the game as normal and the game crashes to desktop after about 5 mins.
pc specs
Abit KX7-333R
1024MB pc2700
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 with 53.03 det drivers
creative soundblaster live 5.1
direct x 9.0b
ive had no other problems with games but this one.
i hope these problems get sorted soon as it is becoming a chore to play this game and i really love it too.
just got another error "version control conflict"
any ideas?
getting tired of all the errors and crashes. i'll play something else till a newer patch is released.

when the intro plays of jowood itself, they zoom out and then a comet passes by etc. , from when they zoom out my video already stutters, and my audio fail's when the sun is formed
@willempie_1982
I got the same problem on my PC.I`m playing on a Alienware Area 51 Extreme Laptop,
Intel P4/3.2 GHz
1024 Ram
Geforce Fx Go 5600 128 Mb
The Intro Video stutters, looks ugly und the sound stutters too.
After the game starts the screen is black but I can hear them talking in the tutorial. After I switched off everything that has to do with the graphics I could at least see the screen.Alllthough it`s
immpossible to play with these settings.
Does anybody know what to do about this.
I fixed this problem by selecting Enable Write combining inthe troubleshoot tab in my nvidia drivers.
The same time I reinstalled directx from the spellforce CD,
so I don't know what actually fixed the stuttering videos.
It's worth a try!

We have had reports that active virus scanners were responsible for the video stutters.
I don't use (active) virus scan.
I don't think this is the problem, but could of course be one of many possibilities. I suspect a somewhat buggy directx installation.
